Question: What is the purpose of this project?
Answer:
The purpose of this project is to: (1) examine existing and future transportation conditions in the study area and (2) develop short-, mid- and long-term transportation management and infrastructure improvements to curtail congestion.
Question: When will the project begin/end?
Answer:
The project began in May, 2007, and is anticipated to be completed in June, 2008.
Question: What will DDOT do with the results of the study?
Answer:
The results of the study will be used in programming
short-, mid- and long-term solutions to various pedestrian, bicycle and vehicular issues within the study area.
Question: What will the project mean to me and my neighbors?
Answer:
Once complete, the project will provide detailed information related to improvements to the area for pedestrians, bicycles and vehicles, reducing conflicts between the residential and commercial needs of Georgetown.
Question: How will the project affect Georgetown University?
Answer:
Although Georgetown University is within the study area, effects on the University will be minimal to none. Improving the movement of all modes of transportation in the area will affect Georgetown University, but it is not a goal of this study to improve transportation to/from the University as a sole item but as an integrated part of the whole study area.
